Dewana is for the love and longing for the Divine. The writer, Gani Pagol, through his music, has endeavoured to transverse into the spiritual world of Divinity. He started writing songs and practised Qawwali music in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi Qawwali music has a unique sound stamp- while the songs are about devotion, the way they are sung is celebratory in nature. Thus the Bangladeshi form of Qawwali – Bangla Qawwali, is uplifting and funky.
